The days of one-directional download of information, of "sit still and watch the teacher" and instruction-based learning are quickly being replaced by more dynamic, interactive, flexible, convenient and engaging options.

Immersive, experiential learning, such as listening to stories and scenarios that encourage imagination, have been proven through neuroscience to increase cognitive engagement, understanding, emotional connection and retention of the learning. (view the neuroscience)

For those who are not familiar, ADDIE is a well-recognized instructional design model and acronym of Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate.

So how do we convert instruction-based content into immersive experiential audio scenarios using ADDIE?

Here's our step-by-step process:

1. GET STARTED: First, we receive the "slide-deck" and handouts from our client - typically from an old or outdated e-learning or in-person course.

2. ANALYZE: We work with a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to evaluate and assess the content and clarify the desired learning outcomes.

3. DESIGN: This is the hard part. Using creativity and imagination to "hear" and "see" how the application of the learning would play out in real life. We create an outline, source expert guests and plan for other media such as quizzes, street interviews, analogies and stories

4. DEVELOP: Our creative minds running full steam - writing the story and making sure we hit all the key learning outcomes without disrupting the flow. The key here is to help the learner simulate and "experience" realistic situations that challenge them as though they were a present and active participant (which, mentally, they are).

5. PRODUCTION: This is the fun part where Christine Cullingworth takes the leadership role. As a professional voice actor, she has a large network of excellent talent who have incredible skills to elevate the scenarios.

6. POST PRODUCTION: Again, Christine leads the sound editing, engineering and design, adding sound effects and music - her empathic listening skills fine-tune everything to enhance the experience and realism, and not distract from it.

7. COMPLETION: At this stage, we create a full set of downloadable handouts and the final skill-testing questions (when required). These are downloadable on our custom-built mobile platform or website at any time.

8. Following the final step, PUBLICATION, our platform presents a user-friendly evaluation and feedback page.

As you can see in the graphic, through each stage we check in with our clients and have them sign off before moving onto the next stage.

Now you know - that's how StoryStyle™ is done!

Any questions?

“Greater Vancouver REALTORS have collaborated with Russell Cullingworth and the ProDio team on 3 audio-learning courses now. I have found them extremely easy to work with and highly professional. They demonstrate meticulous attention to detail and extremely high production values. Our members have found these audio courses highly engaging while being easy to listen to. In particular, the “storytelling” approach is a highly educational instructional format, which can address complex issues in a logical and engaging way. The evaluations for these courses have been superb and I highly recommend the ProDio team to any potential partners.” Richard Joy, Director, Professional Development and Member Relations, Greater Vancouver REALTORS
